Mobile World Congress – Day 1
As the Mobile World Congress gets underway, absolute madness is taking over Barcelona. The city, which has an average population of about 1.6 million people, will see that number jump by more than 100,000 this week. This influx is generating tremendous energy in an already lively locale. Since entering into MWC 16, we’ve had the opportunity to stake out the Microsoft booth, where Plexure will be presenting on Thursday, February 25 at 1:30 p.m. CET. In addition, we’re exploring the conference’s 4YFN track, which is focused on startups – and so far, we’re noticing a huge number of health and big pharma focused applications on the floor. There’s also a number of “digital engagement” companies, an area designated for hospitality operators, a large gathering for all of the Mobile AdNetworks, and the big hardware manufacturers.
We’re also seeing a lot of interest in virtual reality accessories as well as connected cars. Hundreds of people are waiting in line to learn more about these products and see them in action. The next-generation in 5G wireless networks is also creating quite a stir. The conference is buzzing with the latest technologies and solutions, electrifying an international audience and sending Barcelona into a vibrant frenzy.
Stay tuned for more updates as the week unfolds!
