SHARON HUNTER BRINGS GLOBAL BUSINESS EXPERTISE TO VMOB BOARD
VMob Group Limited (VMob) is delighted to announce the addition of acclaimed business leader Sharon Hunter as a director on the VMob Board. The current directors welcome Sharon and appreciate the significant expertise and experience she brings to the business.
VMob Chairman Phil Norman said the addition of Ms Hunter to the Board would complement the existing breadth of experience offered by existing Board members.
BIOGRAPHY: SHARON HUNTER
Sharon Hunter is an experienced company director and entrepreneur with capability across a wide number of industries in both the public and private sector. In addition she has acted in an advisory capacity for significant government initiatives, sitting on the Advisory board for the Rugby World Cup 2011 and the Investment Advisory Panel for Primary Growth Partnership.
In 1989 she co-founded PC Direct which rapidly became New Zealand’s largest and most successful home grown computer company. The company was sold in 1997, after which Sharon went on to form investment vehicle Hunter Powell Investments with Tenby Powell. The company is the largest non-institutional shareholder in the Hirepool Group.
Sharon is now chair of corporate advisory and finance firm Cranleigh New Zealand, and independent director of The Skin Institute Group and Veritas Group.
Sharon has been a trustee of the Starship Foundation for the past 13 years and is past chair and board member of the Robin Hood Foundation. She has recently been appointed as ambassador to the Gynecological Cancer Foundation, and is a board member for Company of Women.
